In these current economic times, everyone wants to know what it would cost for a sketch and hey; I don’t blame you.

But; before I get on to giving you my prices, I’ll also try to answer those thoughts/queries some of you might have, about my work. To help with this process, I have set out a little Q and A format for you to read. Hope it answers all your questions.

Do I take commissions? ……. Yes

What are my prices? …………….. The sketches I do, come in three sizes A5, A4 and A3. They can be purchased “framed” or “unframed”.

Unframed A5 – $115 (rectangle or square frame)

Unframed A4 – $150

Unframed A3 – $220

Add $20 on to each price for “framed” sketches.

What are the (approx) sizes? ………. A5 sketch measures about 14cm x 15cm. A5 frames are 25cm x 25cm for a square frame or 23cm x 32cm for a rectangular frame. A4 sketch measures 21cm x 30cm. A4 frame measures 32cm x 42cm. A3 sketch measures 30cm x 42cm. A3 frame measures 52cm x 42cm

How long do I have to wait? ……… Normally a sketch can be completed in 4 weeks however when there are backlogs, a sketch can take 8-10 weeks

Can any house be sketched? ………… I sketch houses from photos. A house photo needs to clearly show the front and one full side of a house please. Houses hidden behind a lot of shrubs and tall trees don’t lend themselves to my style.

What about if I want something added to the sketch; like a dog or a car? ……… Usually these additions would be an extra cost.

What’s the process? ………. 1st. You advise a sketch size and frame size and send a reference photo. Then, I sketch the house and message you when finished. At this time I also send you my bank details for a bank transfer. I also accept cash. After payment I advise you of a sketch pick up address in Shorncliffe.

What are the materials I use? …… All sketches are done on FABRIANO Bristol smooth design illustration paper 250g/m2. Frames are brand new IKEA frames. Sketch pens are Micron Pigma 005 and 04 archival ink pens and COPIC pens for colour
